Three new ETFs enter the market

International wealth manager Dimensional Fund Advisors has launched three actively managed ETFs on the ASX to expand and complement its existing product range in Australia.

Global wealth firm Dimensional Fund Advisors has expanded its suite of actively managed exchange-traded funds (ETF) with the addition of three new offerings on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).

The new ETFs will aim to allow investors to access returns from global value stocks, as well as opportunities from the global small-cap sector.

The three funds launched are the Dimensional Australian Value Trust (ASX: DAVA), Dimensional Global Value Trust (ASX: DGVA) and Dimensional Global Small Company Trust (ASX: DGSM) and are able to be accessed by investors as listed products, as well as via unlisted distribution channels.

These funds have been introduced to the market not only to build out the manager’s product set, but also specifically to complement the core equity ETFs it launched in November 2023.

These were the Australian Core Equity ETF (ASX: DACE), Global Core Equity – Unhedged ETF (ASX: DGCE) and Global Core Equity – AUD Hedged ETF (ASX: DFGH), which are designed to allow investors to benefit from size, value and profitability premiums from domestic and other developed market.

“These component strategies supplement the Australian and Global Core Equity ETFs launched last year and allow financial professionals to tailor asset allocations to meet a range of client needs,” Dimensional Australia chief executive Banhu Singh said.

“Our strategies offer the benefits of indexing – such as low costs, low turnover and high diversification – paired with the advantages of flexible implementation that provide a continuous focus on higher expected returns.”

The manager employs a factor-based investment approach incorporating academic research and a process-driven pursuit of higher expected returns.

“For four decades, we have focused on empowering investment professionals so they can deliver their clients the best investment experience,” Dimensional Fund Advisors Australia head of global client group Nathan Krieger said.

“We believe a rules-based investment approach can help deliver a more reliable and smoother markets experience for investors and can help to better address a variety of portfolio goals and aspirations.”
