Selfwealth launches ASX investing tool

Investors have been provided with a new facility that will make investing in ASX-listed stocks easier and more cost-effective.

Investors have been provided with a new facility that will make investing in ASX-listed stocks easier and more cost-effective.

Syfe financial platform subsidiary Selfwealth has introduced a new service providing individuals with an easier avenue to invest in a basket of themed shares associated with the biggest companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).

The product, called Bundles, groups selected ASX-listed shares or exchange-traded funds (ETF) by sector or theme. This is designed to simplify the process for investors seeking exposure to specific market segments, such as major Australian banks, gold producers or technology companies with a focus on artificial intelligence.

What previously required multiple trades and decisions can now be executed in one order, with each Bundle holding between two and seven ASX-listed companies.

Brokerage is charged at the time of purchase at a 30 per cent discount to the standard per-trade rate that would apply if each stock were bought individually.

This structure aims to make diversified, themed exposure more accessible from a cost perspective. A key feature is the direct asset ownership the product offers. To this end, each underlying stock is held separately in the investor’s Clearing House Electronic Subregister System (CHESS)-registered portfolio and directly in their name, identical to any other ASX stock held on the platform.

The initial launch includes seven themes covering the four major Australian banks, leading ASX-listed technology and software companies, gold miners, major Australian retail players and the dominant domestic airlines.

The Bundles are positioned for investors who want direct ownership in recognisable companies but may find the process of selecting individual stocks complex.

“Many retail investors want real ownership in companies they recognise, but picking individual stocks can feel daunting,” Syfe group chief operating officer Samantha Horton noted.

To this end, Horton indicated the offering will make investing in shares easier.

“What used to take hours of research and multiple trades now takes one decision and one click – at a lower cost too,” she said.

“Selfwealth by Syfe is making investing more accessible, whether it’s your first trade or your fiftieth.”
